The Precision Wing Chun training method continues with a series of partnership practices that lead to a systematic study of Combat Chi Sau. Some people hold to the erroneous notion that Chi Sau is just an exercise that doesn’t apply to street fighting. But, Chi Sau, and the rest of the partnership practices, create an enhanced arm sensitivity that allow a person to adroitly control the line of attack in the face of a superior force. When this sensitivity is supported by the body framework you learned from reading our previous books it is devastating in the street. In this book:
First, we teach you how to close the gap and engage an attacker. Second, we teach you how to balance your bones against your opponent's bones once you have engaged them. The line of attack that you balance against is called a bridge. Third, we teach you how to recognize and capitalize on 8 ways that an opponent's bone structure can be out of balance as he tries to attack you. Naturally we teach you how to take advantage of those eight ways to be off. |
Fourth, we teach you how feed your attacker structural inputs to lead him into one of the balance traps that you just practiced attacking in the previous chapter. We show you how to follow your counter attack with a direct attack that cuts off the attacker's attempt to recover. These "follows" are usually fight enders.
Fifth, we teach you how to apply the knowledge you gain in this book to defending yourself against punchers like Western Boxers. This book isn't about sport. It is about bare knuckle self defense.
Sixth, we teach you how to apply this same knowledge to a strong kicker, like a Thai Boxer.
The two slide shows below are screen shots from 2 of the 30 videos that are in this book.
